Sunday was gorgeous and we worked in the yard, tidying it up after a cruel winter. I've purchased a little metal holder for sticks, so they can dry properly and be used as firewood later. We've also changed over the glass panels on our porch to screens, which is the offical start of spring at our house.

I hope everything is OK too. The weather seems to have been dreadful more or less world wide this year.

We have had a couple of short hot spells in this area and then we have gone back to cool and windy.

That's some rainfall! Good luck with the clear up.

The 'new lake' looks rather good on the children's lawn.

Yes. I think the cloud is sat at sea level more than it is actually raining. I couldn't see actual rain through the window, but a wet cat jumped onto my lap. That gave me the clue I needed.

hail and thunder to wake us up this morning, but hot and sunny by lunch.

On the plus side, none of our windows were destroyed by the hail. Sadly not everyone was so lucky.

IF you were feeling a bit chilly this morning it’s because Darwin experience its coldest temperatures of the year. Just after 6.30am the mercury dropped to a chilly 18.1C, with an apparent temperature of 13.4C.

Ha! Yes, that's late spring temps here as well.
Unfortunately, it looks like it's going to rain here tomorrow, right when we have over about a dozen people (and their children) for my birthday party... which isn't a problem, really, but it means I need to clean in the inside of the house, rather than just pick up the yard...

There are three wildfires raging in The Highlands at the moment. It's not something we get very often but the current dry spell has produced ideal conditions. Currently, there is, unfortunately, no immediate forecast of rain.

Very hot and sticky here today. We are having the outside of the house painted and we felt very sorry for the poor decorator working so hard in the heat. Our house gets the sun all day - on the back in the morning and on the front in the afternoon - very nice in Spring and Autumn but in the summer you cannot escape from the heat.
