Promotion

Very general discussion about absolutely anything at all, go wildly off topic and chuck stuff about. Chit-chat. Witty banter. Crash air-planes. Bring your own "lemonade"

'Strewth! I mean congratulations & a well deserved promotion. All that ''fruit salad" must be weighing you down... :D 8-) :salute:

And from me too :dancingbananas: :bananadevil: :pianonana: What a splendid achievement.

Not sure about fruit salad, but we called the gold stuff 'scrambled egg'.

Anyway - party time in the Mess, chaps.

"Scrambled eggs" or "brass hat" are the normal terms I use to refer to very high ranks.
"fruit salad" is used in references to displays of medal ribbons, and can be any rank.

I missed out on a long service medal and a promotion by a relatively short time when the ROC was stood down, OH by a matter of weeks for the same medal. But that would have been the only one, as I've not been in the armed forces as such.

Both Mr FB and inherited have medals for 'good conduct'. Basically, so many years of undetected crime. 8-)
