The Chat Thread

Very general discussion about absolutely anything at all, go wildly off topic and chuck stuff about. Chit-chat. Witty banter. Crash air-planes. Bring your own "lemonade"

I've had two attempts at eating at the Biggles Restaurant - first time with S666 when we walked from the bus stop only to discover they were closed that day. Second time was with Mr RSG and S666 when Biggles was closed for a private function. Not sure if you've tried again, S666? I thought about it back in May, but didn't follow through. I do hope the new owners keep the name!

But as TS mentioned - maybe we could all club together and buy it :D :D :D

I would not try that carniverous place without you lot :!: I go to The Crew Room inside the aerodrome, and you can sit outside and watch the aeroplanes. I hope the new people will add some vegetarian fare to their menu :!:
Property prices are such that this sounds reasonable. Would be good to run it as a bed and breakfast (of which there is a shortage in the area) as well as a restaurant.

I was watching it while Little A played (noisily) with his new Christmas toys and I was like "he looks familiar..." and then I was like "OMG, it's Neil Dickson!" and I whipped out my phone and googled it to make sure. (Thank goodness for technology, otherwise it would drive me mad for days.)

Mr RSG and I both really like The Crew Room, too, S666. The owner is so obliging (even for a GF person like myself) and great atmosphere.

I do like your suggestion about it being turned into a B&B as well as a restaurant! Imagine being able to stay at Biggles' place!!! :D :D :D

Last April I bought at auction a Robert Taylor print of the 'Memorial Flight' a picture which features a Spitfire, a Hurricane and a Lancaster Bomber. It was signed by three Battle of Britain pilots, the names of which I forgot. I took possession of it this Christmas. (The auction was in Bristol, and involved a friend of my daughter's picking it up and passing it on to her for me to collect when I went down).

I was delighted to find that the signatures belonged to Air Vice Marshal Johnnie Johnson, Group Captain Leonard Cheshire and Group Captain Peter Townsend. I am over the moon.

I came downstairs this morning to find that other people had finished the last of the coffee. I am not quite used to the offspring drinking coffee yet, so this has come as a nasty shock. A morning hot chocolate is not the same thing.
