Christmas presents for the boys?

Very general discussion about absolutely anything at all, go wildly off topic and chuck stuff about. Chit-chat. Witty banter. Crash air-planes. Bring your own "lemonade"

That is very good to hear - it sometimes seems as though Algy is the only one with devoted fans.

How lovely - I am sure Biggles and Bertie would like "silent devotion" - they do not show their feelings very much and I do not think they would be keen on other people gushing all over them.

Certainly not. Lol. Biggles would be horrified.

Algy should have some Grow-bags and various plants/seeds to grow in them. Mrs. Hudson won't mind at all. He hopes.

Bertie can have an elegant manicure set in a leather case. He sounds the sort of chap who looks after his nails no matter what. And the other chaps will constantly be using the scissors to get them out of tricky situations. And not replacing them.

Biggles can have a stack of maps so that when something that needs his attention is going on, he will already have a map of that part of the world.

That seems to be spot on, Tracer. Plenty of room for choice of types and styles etc. And by the way, you are right about Bertie looking after his nails. In Noble Lord Ginger asks him if he has the nail scissors he usually carries with him. Bertie produces a folding pair from his waistcoat pocket.

Yes. We Biggles fans are equally devoted. I just don't make a song and dance about it.

How about a Rubik's cube for Ginger? And the solution book for Biggles.

YES!

ABSOLUTELY!!
I thought that would have been clear by now <said very huffily> In fact I'm thinking of writing a fic where Biggles sends the others off and he stays behind to mind the phone and then takes his bunch of fans to lunch at the RAF Club, takes them for flights in the Grace Spitfire (he is a good friend of Mrs Grace), then drives them all (in his Bentley) up to another friend's hangar where he gives them all joy flights in a newly restored Camel. Of course, I realise this would have limited appeal...

Limited appeal? Certainly not!

I'd be happy listening to Biggles explain how the aircraft worked, and exploring them in fine detail and running my hands over the Bentley's coachwork.

Join the queue at the back, KK. This is RSG's treat for Biggles fans!

I'm not as nice as Tiff. He can talk to me about something other than how aircraft work. There are lots of things he's done that I'd find interesting. He can find a topic that we both have an interest in.

Silent devotion? Is there such a thing?

But it's nice that we now know what to get the Biggles fans for Christmas: a nice Camel and a Bentley. Sorry we couldn't do Biggles.

Algy probably wouldn't mind people fangirling over him. In Black Peril it's mentioned that he's used to the stares of small boys (admiring his flying), and we know from the Bitmore story that he's got a bit of showmanship in him.

Ah, but there is method in my madness, Kismet. Biggles likes to instruct and impart knowledge.
