Star Wars 7

Very general discussion about absolutely anything at all, go wildly off topic and chuck stuff about. Chit-chat. Witty banter. Crash air-planes. Bring your own "lemonade"

The new official trailer is up on Youtube.

Are you excited? Or could you not care less?

Only a year to wait! I'm pretty pumped about it, actually.

I'm afraid I couldn't care less, but that's probably because I've never seen 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. ;)
"Where the dickens did you spring from?" he inquired.
"Oh, I was just hanging around, you know, in case I was wanted," returned Algy lightly.

That makes two of us Fred. Well, almost. I have never yet seen a whole Star Wars film all the way through and what bits I have seen are from the first two films only.

I couldn't care less either. According to yesterday's Times, it was a mistake!!!!

Master 7 will be excited. I saw 'The Empire Strikes Back' when I wasn't much older than him. I hated it.
He can wait until it comes out on DVD.

Saw it the other day via a FB link...I'm looking forward to it, having seen all the previous installations since 1977. However, I stress to add I am a MAD keen Trekkie [which I rate above the Star Wars franchise], & I would have to say James C. is just a shade above James T. in my hero worship stakes.

I am more excited about the final movie in the new Star Trek franchise [a trilogy], which is expected to screen in 2016...& also directed etc by J.J. Abrams. :D

Our house is Star Trek rather than Star Wars. I've never managed to get involved in the Star Wars universe somehow. It ought to appeal but doesn't.

Saturday Night Live did a parody of the trailer on their show last night that was absolutely hilarious.

I watched this on your recommendation, VV. I wouldn't go quite so far as to say I can't stop watching it but….

This is also a firmly Trek household. No 1 Grandson has been well and truly indoctrinated and has been eyeing off all my ST memorabilia for many years (I've assured him it'll be his when I eventually shuffle off :D ); No 2 Grandson is firmly Star Wars and thoroughly enjoys stirring me up on the subject  but...he's the one I've converted to a Biggles and Gimlet fan, so I figure it's a reasonable trade-off  And four out of seven of them completely love the Doctor, so I think I've done reasonably well.

Not sure if we'll go to see it Star Wars 7 or wait for the DVD...

James C definitely rate more highly than James T in my hero worship stakes, OzB, 'coz I was (and remain) a firm Spock fanatic :D :D

I am more excited about the final movie in the new Star Trek franchise [a trilogy], which is expected to screen in 2016...& also directed etc by J.J. Abrams. :D

Me too! Me too! Me too! Definitely hanging out for this one

Ahh...so you're a No.1 man when it comes to Biggles & Co's world, & a 'wingman' [i.e. Spock] when it comes to the Trek universe? ;) :D

Far be it for me to hijack this Star Wars thread [as a Trekkie might, muhahaha. ], but for 'Lego Trek', this is badder, meaner, awesome-er [not a real word] imho:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bD-ZVkutIp8

P.S. I love Spock too...I suppose he is Kirk's 'Algy' [smarter, wiser, more logical, less impulsive...better sense of humour?? :scared: ].

Sorry, I'm a bit late to this (I had to wait until I had the real computer all to myself) but it's really funny. My favorite part was the subtitles right at the beginning "Crap! The Oven!". I laughed out loud.
