Thank goodness it's Friday!

Very general discussion about absolutely anything at all, go wildly off topic and chuck stuff about. Chit-chat. Witty banter. Crash air-planes. Bring your own "lemonade"

I must admit I have never moved. We bought a house when we first got married over forty years ago and we still live in it. I do try and have a sort out every now and again but then years later I find all the stuff I thought had gone to the tip up in the attic as my husband does not like to throw anything away :P

I moved loads growing up and hated it. When Mr. KK and I bought our home after our wedding we said it was our "forever house" and we don't want to move until they take us out feet first. I was so sick of moving! The silver lining though was that we periodically purged all the junk in our home... now it just goes in the back corner of the garage or the basement.

There's only two of us, but in the last 6 years we've moved 5 times, not to mention working for 6 months abroad for the last three years. Got moving down to a fine art, but the time has come to properly de-clutter. We've been kidding ourselves we do it every time we move, but really, we've only been playing. As for books, I've over 500 to find room for. I like to see them on shelves, which Mr FB has promised to build for me. Eventually.

today- farmers market to see if I can get purple and green cauliflower seedlings and multi-coloured carrot seeds. At the kid's request. Maybe they'll eat the stuff now!

Monday- public holiday- Queen's Birthday.
Tuesday curriculum day for master 7.
So a very long weekend, hopefully with some gardening thrown in.

Off to Norwich shortly, to meet up with my Formula 1 friends, some of whom have flown over from Canada - so we decided to make it a meeting of the minds :-) Should be great seeing all these people again.

Hope the weather is kind to you all, wherever in the world you are for moving, walking catching up with friends etc.

Weather glorious here at the moment. But that could change. Hope it's nice Kismet's way, whenever the knitting experiment gets under way.

Yes, it's raining here. Not a day to prance about in swimming trunks, no matter how cosy.

Queen's Birthday long weekend over here. Having been stuck indoors (beautiful weather outside, too) for several days, have decided I'm finally on the mend and we're off to the Camping and Caravan Show. Thinking about a smallish motorhome that we could stow the motorbike in. Saw one some years ago, but didn't pursue it. Be interesting to see what's on offer now. Of course, may have to mortgage the house to buy anything we're interested in...

Has anyone any plans for this weekend? The weather forecast keeps changing every day so it is hard to judge whether it will be fine or not. I am hoping to do some gardening all this rain and sultry weather as made the weeds grow.

Tomorrow is my husband's birthday and Sunday is Father's Day (here anyway) so there are cakes to be baked and presents to be wrapped. And maybe more sangria. I should ask him.

I got him a new watch and the baby got him (with some help!) a couple of CDs that he wanted.

Girls' night tonight, school fete all day tomorrow and I'll have to bite the bullet and buy a dress on Sunday otherwise I'll be turning up at school Speech Day in an old pair of jeans, which I don't think they'll appreciate.

I usually go and visit my mother in Lancashire then go to Blackburn or Boundary Mill depending how tidy I need to be. I can get most things locally, just small shops and not much choice.

I have not been to Boundary Mill but I know quite a few people who have and they say it is very good and there is a great deal of choice. I really struggle to find decent clothes in Lancaster.

Is there no way you could get to Blackpool or Southport or Manchester? I remember Lancaster as having a nice jewellery shop, a nice teashop, and that was about it.

I have two full length evening dresses and a little black dress which is too little. Everything else is jeans, hence the need to shop.

Seems about right for me, too. For dresses, I'd be over-dressed or underdressed! And even if I were going somewhere to wear my long dress chances are I'd want a new one anyway. But good luck and have fun.
