Thank goodness it's Friday!

Very general discussion about absolutely anything at all, go wildly off topic and chuck stuff about. Chit-chat. Witty banter. Crash air-planes. Bring your own "lemonade"

Saturday here now. Have just come in from taking Master 7 to a birthday party, have shampooed the carpet and washed the laundry out, done one load of washing, persuaded the 21/2 year old to let me help him vac the floor and now sitting down to a quiet trawl of the forum.

I have just come back from Kendal. I set out to buy a lightweight jacket but I have come back with 8 jigsaws purchased from various charity shops and no jacket :?

I'm confused too :? I'm sure the Prof was referring to something.

Ohh that sounds familiar. Still, at least you got something. Do you like jigsaws, Jenny? I haven't done any in years... I used to do ones with lots of really tiny pieces, with my siblings, and we'd start at different corners... and always get to the end realising there's one piece missing  Those were the days.

Yes I enjoy doing jigsaws. They are very expensive new so I usually buy them from charity shops although of course there are sometimes pieces missing and even more confusing pieces from a different puzzle.

Sunday here now. We've just flown up to Cairns as Mr RSG will be doing some avionics work for MAF up at Mareeba for the next few weeks. It's supposed to be the dry season - but it's been drizzling ever since we arrived...and it's quite cool (for Cairns) :? Are you sure you're not lurking in the neighbourhood somewhere, FB?

Sunday here and we have just come back from the Moorabbin Aircraft Museum where we met an old friend. He gave us a personal tour and got to see some special things. Next time I will leave the kids home so I can actually take in everything without the juniorest member of the household running riot.
Got to see a Vickers Viscount under restoration, a Bristol Beaufighter, and to sit in various cockpits! All things anyone visiting can do.

Awesome! I'd be jumping in every cockpit & doing selfies for Facebook, lol. :D

They were pretty excited. But short in the attention span. All I wanted to do was sit there and absorb everything.

I think we discussed this a while ago, but the forum really does need a babysitting club... for the preservation of many of our members' sanity.

Just been invited round to a friend's to play a silly board game tonight, and yesterday I got invited to a barbeque on Saturday. The weekend's looking up (as long as the weather holds).

I've got houseguests coming tonight and I am mentally running over all of the things I need to do before they arrive. I have an hour and a half before I can go home too.
"For goodness sake stop that Yankee drawl, or you'll have us all doing it before you've finished."

I am expecting 14 people at the house today - all family, and including plenty of little children.

This is an occasion when I want to :sigh2: and :woohoo: at the same time.

Perhaps I'll sneak off and read Biggles?
"Where the dickens did you spring from?" he inquired.
"Oh, I was just hanging around, you know, in case I was wanted," returned Algy lightly.

I've received one of those text messages by phone that are read out in a robotic voice, inviting me out tonight. Don't know who's sent it, but the venue was clear so I'll pop my head round the door and see if it's something I want to join. If not, there's music on across the road (I bumped into the father of one of the band whilst I was walking round the beach today, and he always makes sure I know where his son is playing).

robotic text messages? Sounds a bit weird. Do you have any way of finding out who sent it?

I'd just like to hear that you got into the venue and there was a robot sitting in the corner sobbing into his beer who looked up hopefully and waved at you and the phone message had been normal.

No sign of any party at one pub (had a full message explaining things when I got home) so went to the other. danced to the band and talked with a treasure hunter for the rest of the night. No robots recognised either side of the road.
