Thank goodness it's Friday!

Very general discussion about absolutely anything at all, go wildly off topic and chuck stuff about. Chit-chat. Witty banter. Crash air-planes. Bring your own "lemonade"

Thank goodness it's Friday!

On Sat I am off to a Greenpeace Political Lobbying training event!
Then on Sunday I should meet some of my chums who have been to Indonesia as well. It is an Indostalgia event!! Hehe.
(The only Bigglesey tie in is that my friends have their own airstrip next to the house   )

It's a long weekend here (Monday is Memorial Day). We're doing boring householdy things tomorrow (oil changes, hair cuts, trips to the grocery store, hardware store, bank, etc.) but on Monday we're going to a BBQ with some friends.

Also it's been ages since I've given the house a good scrubbing, so I'll probably do that. If I'm lucky, I might convince my husband to entertain the baby while I work on my quilt or my new Lego Sopwith Camel.

What a sweet little thread =)

I'm doing 'nothing much' - at least, nothing of interest on the forum - but 'Biggles' and 'reading' should be factors.
Next weekend, on the other hand, I'm going to a wedding! That is exciting.

@VZ - happy adventuring! @KK - happy scrubbing/BBQing/Lego SC assembling!

I'm being forced to watch Episode One by a son who's fed up of being teased by his friends for not having seen any Star Wars (Trek fan here). Things can only get better, though I suspect he wants to watch them all with me.

It will indeed help. Also a friend has just invited me round for wine and pizza, so I think I can get out of the last half hour.

I have no idea. Husband has to work this morning. Can't do much. Maybe catch up on washing and other stuff. Wish I could watch one of my own DVD's, but kids are doing a marathon Dirt Girl World, followed by Octonauts, Wiggles etc.

You are talking a different language here Tiff - are these Australian cartoons? We are hoping to have a ride out today and then just routine things Sunday and Monday - a good walk on the Promenade would be nice too although it is "Punk Weekend" here which can be quite frightening :?

Oh dear...Jar Jar Binks, say no more. :? I like Star Wars, but Trek Rules! :D

I'd rather sort out all the WW1 short stories in correct reading & chronological order for all to agree on, date all the Air police stories, & figure out where Biggles & Algy disappeared to between 1919 & 1934, than watch 5 minutes of Mr. 'horse head' Binks...sorry, rant over.

Anyway, as to weekend, today was a day of rest & recuperation, tomorrow [Sunday] will be a time to visit the grandkids & teach them a few new bad habits, hehe.

Kids programs. I'm not sure who did the Octonauts, but the other two are Australian.

So, it was a Bank Holiday weekend (in Britain anyway), anyone do anything brilliant/learn anything new/do something different?
OzBiggles obviously cleaned up in the graphic comic department, top score there.

It's Memorial Day here. I'm packing up the baby gear and heading to a cookout at a friend's house. Three hours out of the house with the baby requires almost as much gear as a weeklong camping trip.

What a great thread, VZ. Mind you, I'm late to the party - haven't been home much lately  And now it's Tuesday, so bit late to contribute. But I had to commiserate with you, Kismet.
Kismet wrote:'m being forced to watch Episode One by a son who's fed up of being teased by his friends for not having seen any Star Wars (Trek fan here). Things can only get better, though I suspect he wants to watch them all with me.

This is a Trek household (we all like and enjoyed the original Star Wars trilogy, but Episode One did nothing for me) but number two grandson is definitely Star Wars whilst his older brother is a Trek devotee. I have a considerable ST collection (including a phaser signed by George Takei) and when No 1 Grandson asked what I was going to do with them all, I said I'd leave them to him in my will. Grandson (aged 15 at the time) "Cool. When are you going to die, Grandma?" Whilst Mr RSG and I were killing ourselves laughing, grandson's father (our youngest son) nearly died on the spot. :imao:
No 2 grandson (who has a great deal more of the social graces than his elder brother) is slightly miffed that we're rather short on the Star Wars' side in this house...but he knows he's inheriting all my Biggles' books :D

Son has now watched the first four Star Wars, but has definitely come down on the Trek side of things. He was bored enough tonight to sit in a friend's garden and listen to their complicated love lives rather than watch any more.

Revision, revision and more revision here. A levels and GCSEs for the two still at home. Eldest's first birthday away from home today, so that is a bit weird, not making a cake and fancy tea and all the etcs.

Nothing exciting going on here...although it's Saturday night & I'm 'multi-skilling': Reading & posting on the forum, browsing the Squadron Biggles [& Spitfire Parade] graphic novels, laughing at WW1 songs on Youtube, checking on Facebook, watching Star Trek 'Save The Whales' [I Mean Star Trek 4, lol] on TV, & having my 2nd glass of red. Apart from that, pretty boring really. ;)
