Yes, it wants a password.

I used to access YABS before I found the "old" forum. Had some good stuff, but then didn't seem to be updated, so haven't accessed it for ages. No clue what my password would have been!!

It isn't a password site. There is normally free access. S666 wondered if it had been hacked.

As a site it has some interesting info on it but it isn't all 100% accurate and I have found they don't respond if you try and contact them. So maybe it's a bit like the YAhoo group - still alive but only just :(

Then again, I seem to remember when I found it before that there were some really odd pictures of the boys - Algy with an orange mustache...

That's from some of the graphic novels. I quite like them but I had to get over the illustration of Algy before I could proceed.

Very interesting...I haven't been there for a while, but the site [www.yabs.isambard.com.au] won't even load anymore on my laptop. :thinking2:

If you put it into Google, you get a message asking for account details/ password and then 'the server says suspended. If you are the account owner contact abuse@suresupport.com for more details.'

Google is just picking up the first words on the site. That is the message you get when you try to access it. It never used to need a password, and I doubt that a fairly laid-back website like YABS would suddenly go in for them. I think either they have been hacked or run into trouble of some sort. I hope they get it sorted out, because I like the site.

Although they do not seem to update much, a lot of thought went into the site. Where else can you find lists of what and who appeared in each book? I think it is important to encourage people who think differently instead of just copying what other people do. I have not read the reviews, but of course each one is the opinion of one person, nothing definitive.

Most of the reviewers seem to be Australian so I strongly suspect they like their heroes more manly than Ginger and a little less in awe of the main man.

Had a message from them to say just off-line "for some TLC" :!: They could have left users with a more helpful notice  Maybe they wanted to know how many people cared.

They say the site should be back tonight.

Virus panic? Virus panic? What virus panic? <starts running round in circles>

Or as Corporal Jones used to say on Dad's Army: "Don't Panic! Don't panic!" etc.

Aw, that was a terrific website. :( Pity there's been some trouble. What do we think will happen...? Nothing? Will it suddenly reappear? :eh:

This actually reminds me of when we lost Jenny. And there was panic... but then she turned up again 8-)
‘Is Algy back?’
‘Yes; he was in the Mess having his dinner when I came out. He said something about not letting stray Huns interfere with his meals.’
‘He wouldn’t,’ replied Biggles bitterly.

YABS administrator here. The site is back up.

And you guessed right about being hacked. Although not YABS but another site on the same domain which made my provider take everything offline.

Site now completely rebuilt from a local backup so 100% clean. Only piece turned off is the list of updates as it's reporting every image in the database as brand new.

Not very active in this forum (I know, shame) but anything awry on the site email me at yabs@isambard.com.au. Will try and fix/update. At present the only updates are when my collection extends with another purchase. Recently just the latest Red Fox editions as nothing exciting coming up at eBay.
